  Exceed 3D V7.1 by Hummingbird Communications Ltd.   C-Solutions' Geometric Modeling Software (GMSWorks) products are a complete, integrated CAD/CAM/CAE system for design, modeling, and analysis of mechanical components and assemblies. GMSWorks products are specifically optimized for the mold making industry featuring state of the art solutions for mold design, machining, and SIMUFLOW injection molding analysis. GMSWorks can also be fully customized and automated to meet specific user needs and requirements using the GMS ToolKit. GMSWorks 4.4 is the latest release of the CAD/CAM software that has been helping engineers design and manufacture complex parts since 1982. This computer aided design and manufacturing (CAD/CAM) software package includes a full integration of the new DESIGNBASE advanced modeling kernel, featuring superior free form surface and solid geometry modeling and unmatched design editing capabilities.   OptiMold consists of an AGILE program to design and draw both standard and custom mold bases and components. The necessary data files and symbol libraries are included in this program. This release supports both American and Metric mold bases. American mold bases include DME, National and HASCO. Metric mold bases include HASCO, DME, DMS and Futaba. The AGILE program, OPTIMOLD.AGX, can draw any type of standard or custom mold base in the style of these defined standards. The 3-D mold representation is drawn as a series of plates, with each plate on a separate layer for ease of detailing. Components associated with the plates are in the same layer. User Coordinate Systems are automatically drawn for ease of adding components later. Extra points and circles are drawn on the plates where components intersect for ease of generating N/C tool paths. OptiMold also automatically creates a 2-D representation of the mold which can be used to create the final mold base drawings. Colors are used for ease of understanding. In general, the OptiMold package was designed to facilitate not only drawing standard mold bases, but to allow the designer to complete the design, detail the mold, generate a bill of materials table, and create N/C tool paths for machining. Ricoh designed this product specifically for CAD vendors, third-party software suppliers and end users wishing to build industry-specific custom applications. DESIGNBASE utilizes "Meta Modeling," a technique for automatically capturing design model history. Designs can be created quickly without pre-planning, datum plane construction, or setting up complex constraints. DESIGNBASE retains the design history of the 3D shape under construction by allowing for the capture, editing, and regeneration of parametric feature based construction steps. Parametric Meta Modeling combined with best of class Local Operations for direct geometry manipulation and industry leading advanced free-form shape modeling techniques make DESIGNBASE the premier modeling kernel for the tool and die industries. C-Solutions, Inc. uses Ricoh's embedded Hidden Line Manager since the 4.2 release of GMSWorks. The combination of GMSWorks and the Hidden Line Manager provides a reliable, fast and accurate method of computing the hidden line view on any 3D solid model. The algorithms in the Hidden Line Manager are designed to be robust when dealing with models containing a variety of interconnected parts that can include solid bodies as well as surface shells and wire geometry. This technology allows a 3-D model to be utilized as the foundation for engineering drawing production and interactive model visualization during the design process.
